🐾 Puppies (1 Year & Under)
Our puppies are exactly what you would expect at this age, playful, curious, full of energy, and still learning everything about the world around them. Young puppies, they are babies.. They are in the early stages of development and have not yet formed habits, manners, or boundaries.
Puppies require time, structure, patience, and consistency. Things like jumping, nipping, chewing, accidents in the home, and high energy are all completely normal at this stage. It is the responsibility of the adopter to guide them, teach appropriate behavior, and provide the training and structure they need to grow into well-mannered adult dogs.
Please understand that puppies are not “ready-made” dogs. They do not come trained, and they require daily time, effort, and commitment. If you are not prepared for the work that comes with raising a puppy, we strongly encourage you to consider one of our older dogs instead.
We also follow a mandatory decompression period for all dogs, including puppies. This allows them to adjust properly to their new environment without added stress or pressure. Giving them time to settle, observe, and build trust is key to a successful transition.
Our goal is to set both the puppy and the adopter up for long-term success. When given proper guidance, patience, and structure, puppies grow into incredible lifelong companions.

Weight: Growing puppy (expected medium-to-large adult size)
Breed: Catahoula Shepherd mix
Energy Level: Medium-High – playful, active, and curious

Cats: Unknown
Kids: Best suited for homes with children 10 years and older due to her high energy and play style. Fern is still learning boundaries and may unintentionally knock over or play too rough with younger children.
Homes with children under 10 may be considered on a case-by-case basis for families with a history of handling higher-energy dogs, along with a veterinary reference and structured environment.
Training & Skills:
Fern is still a young puppy and in the early stages of learning everything. She is working on basic manners, potty training, and understanding routines. She will need consistency, patience, and structure as she continues to grow and learn.

Age: DOB 09-15-2025
Weight: Expected medium to large size
Breed: Labrador Retriever / Border Collie Mix (best guess)
Energy Level: Moderate (more calm and observant than typical puppy energy)
Special Traits: Sensitive, gentle, reserved, dog-friendly
Ideal Home: Patient, structured home willing to allow full decompression and give him the time he needs to build trust and thrive
This sweet boy is one of those puppies who will quietly steal your heart… you just have to be willing to slow down long enough to see him.
He came to us as part of an accidental litter from a young couple who had not spayed their dog. When we brought the puppies in, they were in very rough condition and needed several weeks of care before they were healthy enough to even begin their journey forward.
From the very beginning, he was more reserved than his siblings. While the others gradually opened up, he has remained a more sensitive, cautious soul.
And that’s not a flaw… that’s who he is.
He is happy. He wags his tail, he watches you, he’s aware and engaged… but he is not a puppy who will run up and climb into your lap right away. He is still learning that people are safe, and that trust takes time.
🐾 Personality & Temperament
He is a gentle, quiet, observant puppy who prefers to take things in at his own pace. He is not shut down, he is simply cautious.
He gets along beautifully with other dogs, both male and female, and even does well with younger puppies. He coexists easily and naturally within a group.
He just hasn’t fully built that human trust yet.
🐾 Compatibility
Dogs: Yes - excellent with all dogs
Cats: Unknown - no confirmed exposure
Kids: 10+ recommended (younger children case-by-case with proper structure and guidance)
🐾 Training & Transition
This is where it’s important to understand…
He is not a “ready-made” puppy.
He is a dog who will require patience, understanding, and a proper decompression period.
He will need an adopter who is willing to bring him into their home and simply allow him to exist without pressure, no forcing interaction, no overwhelming him, no expectations for immediate affection.
Just time.
Dogs like him do not fail in homes…
They BLOSSOM in the right environment.
We have seen it time and time again over nearly 30 years.
Given space, consistency, and a calm environment, dogs like him become deeply loyal, loving companions. It may take weeks… it may take a few months…
But when they choose you, it’s something truly special.
🐾 Special Traits
• Gentle, sensitive nature
• Observant and thoughtful personality
• Dog-friendly with all sizes and ages
• Quiet and low-key compared to typical puppies
🐾 Ideal Home
• Calm, patient household
• Someone experienced or willing to follow guidance
• Fully fenced yard required
• No expectations for immediate interaction, must allow him to come around at his own pace
• Commitment to proper decompression is non-negotiable
This boy may not be the one who runs up to greet you first…
But he is the one who will quietly choose you, in his own time, and when he does… it will mean everything.
If you’re not just looking for a puppy… but for a dog you can truly make a difference for…
He’s waiting.

This boy absolutely loves other dogs. From sunup to sundown, Denver’s favorite thing to do is play, run, and interact with his canine friends. He thrives in that kind of environment and would do best in a home where he has other dogs to keep him company and help burn off his energy.
Denver has spent his life as an outdoor/kennel dog, so he is still learning what it means to live inside a home. He will need guidance with house manners, routines, and structure, but he is a smart, eager boy who will do well with consistency and proper guidance.
Age: Estimated DOB 09-12-2025
Weight: Growing (expected medium-to-large adult size)
Breed: Airedale Terrier / Golden Retriever mix
Energy Level: High-active, playful, and always ready to go
Personality & Temperament:
Energetic, playful, social, and full of personality. Denver is a fun-loving, outgoing dog who enjoys interaction and activity. He is very expressive and vocal, adding a lot of character to his already big personality.
Compatibility:
Dogs: Excellent - thrives with other dogs and would benefit greatly from a canine companion
Cats: Unknown – has never been around cats
Kids: Best suited for homes with children 10 years and older due to his energy level and play style. He may be too much for younger children and is still learning boundaries.
Training & Skills:
Denver will need continued work with house training, basic manners, and learning how to live indoors. He has not yet learned home routines, so structure and consistency will be important. Having another well-mannered dog in the home can help him learn faster and adjust more easily.
Special Skills:
Professional chatterbox- Denver has a lot to say and isn’t shy about sharing it. He’s vocal, expressive, and always ready to “talk,” making him a fun and entertaining companion.
Adoption Requirements (if applicable):
A home with another dog is strongly preferred, as Denver thrives in a social environment and benefits from canine companionship. His adopter must be committed to training, structure, and helping him transition from outdoor living to a stable indoor routine.
Fun Facts / Quirks:
Denver is equal parts goofy and lovable. He’s clumsy, playful, and full of personality, always keeping things interesting with his energy and “conversations.” If you’re looking for a dog with character, Denver definitely delivers.

Age: DOB 06-15-2025 (approximate)
Weight: ~40–45 lbs (expected to stay medium-sized)
Breed: Australian Cattle Dog (Red Heeler) mix
Energy Level: Moderate (playful but self-entertaining)
Special Traits: Happy, independent, playful, easygoing, not clingy
Ideal Home: A patient home that will allow proper decompression and provide structure as she transitions into a home environment
Maple is a happy, goofy young pup who wakes up every day ready to play, explore, and enjoy life. She’s got that constant smile on her face and an easygoing personality that makes her such a fun dog to be around. Whether she’s bouncing around with other dogs or entertaining herself, Maple is always finding a way to keep herself busy and happy.
She’s not an overly needy or clingy dog. Maple is perfectly content doing her own thing, playing, exploring, and just being a dog. But when she does come up to you, it’s genuine. She’s sweet, friendly, and affectionate in a natural, easy way that makes those moments even more special.
Maple has grown up here in our sanctuary environment, surrounded by other dogs and open space, which means she’s used to freedom, routine, and a completely different lifestyle than a typical home. Because of this, her transition into a home will require proper decompression , this is not optional.
We follow a structured decompression protocol that has been used successfully for nearly 30 years. When followed correctly, it works consistently and predictably.
What this means for you:
- Maple will NOT come into your home ready to immediately interact, cuddle, or play
- She will need time, space, and a calm environment to adjust
- For the first 2 weeks: no training, no overwhelming interaction, no pressure
- She must be allowed to settle and come to you on her own terms
This includes:
- Providing a quiet, safe space (such as an open crate or designated area)
- Allowing her to observe and decompress without constant engagement
- Letting her build trust at her own pace
When given that space, most dogs begin to open up within just a few days.
With proper guidance after decompression, she will continue to grow into a well-balanced adult dog.
Dog Compatibility:
Maple does excellent with other dogs and is comfortable in a group setting. She does well with both male and female dogs and enjoys having canine companions.
Cat Compatibility:
Unknown. While Maple has a playful, easygoing personality and we do not anticipate issues, she has not been tested with cats. Proper introductions and management would be required.
Child Compatibility:
Maple has not had direct exposure to young children. Due to her age, energy level, and the need for proper decompression, we recommend children in the home be 10 years or older.
Homes with younger children may be considered on a case-by-case basis, provided the family is committed to following all decompression guidelines and understands the importance of giving her space, allowing her to adjust at her own pace, and not overwhelming her during the transition period.
Please understand:
If decompression is not followed, it can lead to unnecessary stress and a difficult transition, all of which are absolutely preventable when proper decompression/home integration is followed. We know Maple, and we provide the exact guidance needed to help her succeed.
Maple is NOT a good fit for:
- First-time dog owners
- Anyone expecting an immediate, “ready-made” companion
- Homes unwilling to follow structured guidance and decompression
Maple IS a perfect fit for:
- Patient adopters who understand the value of earning a dog’s trust
- Homes willing to follow proven guidance
- Someone looking for a happy, independent, easy going companion.
If you’re looking for a dog with a fun, happy personality and you’re willing to give her the time she needs to adjust, Maple will reward you with a genuine, easygoing companionship that’s well worth it. 💛
